History

Château Arnaud de Jacquemeau is a family property. It owes its name to the ancestor "Arnaud" and to the place called "Jacquemeau".

Dominique Dupuy has been running it since 1994, he is the fifth generation.

The estate is certified Organic Agriculture since the 2013 vintage.

The vineyard, with an average age of 35 years, is composed of 2 grape varieties: Merlot for 90% and Malbec for 10%. This variety, which is rarer in Saint-Emilion, brings color, fleshiness and notes of black cherries to our wines. 

The soils are clayey-siliceous on a subsoil of alios (iron dross).

Philosophy

Our philosophy : To make a fruity wine, of pleasure and of presence while being demanding as much on the quality as on the respect of the traditions allied to the modern techniques.

During the summer, at the beginning of July, we thin out the leaves.

Then, the green harvest allows us to make a first selection of the best grapes. We are respectful of the soil, the grapes and the people.

This philosophy led us to commit ourselves to the Ecocert organization to obtain the AB (Agriculture Biologique) label in 2012.
